Stinkin' Thinkin'

I've had a lot on my mind and heart lately. I've lain awake in bed some nights writing out blog posts in my head... trying to come up with just exactly what I want to say and how I want to express myself. But nothing I ever come up with seems like it's really going to get my message across. And when I think about it, I really don't even know exactly what I want to put out there. In my mind, I have all sorts of things stirring.... but to write them out... I feel a little lost. Sometimes I just wish I could turn my brain off. Especially at night!

So, instead of sitting here and explaining why I can't explain what I want to explain - at least at this point.... I wanted to post pictures of the invitations I made for Eloise's Birthday Party. But, alas! I have switched to our new computer and those pics are on the old computer - which I am forbidden to touch until Cory gets home because it is on it's last legs! (He didn't forbid me, I forbid myself!)

So... all I have to say is... I can't believe my sweet baby is going to be ONE in a couple of weeks. Less than a couple of weeks.

It just doesn't seem possible. Yesterday she let me rock her for about 10 minutes... but being the busy-body that she is, she eventually wanted down to run around. I cherished those few moments though. They are few and far between these days.

I do have one request... Please keep our family in your prayers. Especially Eloise. Pending the coming snow storm tomorrow, we are taking her to Children's Hospital to see a Neurosurgeon. There is no cause for alarm - at least at this point - but there is concern that her Metopic Suture (soft spot above her forehead) may be closing too soon. That would mean that there wouldn't be room for her brain to grow and develop. Worst case scenario - surgery. Best case - we are just paranoid first time parents whose daughter has an irregular shaped head! (Actually it's just a slight bump--nothing drastic!) As you can imagine, we are a bit stressed... but I have faith that no matter what the outcome of tomorrow's appointment, Eloise is in God's hands 100%.

I will post an update as soon as we know anything.
And I'll also post pics of her Birthday Invites because they are too cute!
If I do say so myself!

  3. Prayers are with you all. She is too cute. I remember when your mom brought her into church and she had the biggest look of amazement when she say Annie.

  6. hello sweet sister, I have read Katy's blog for years and followed her over here to see the prayers needed. I was in awwwwe and really felt impressed to encourage you and let you know I will be praying for sweet squeezle and you and Cory tonight. I was born with no soft spot. I had cranial surgery at about one year old. That was thirty nine years ago but I have a constant reminder of Gods hand in my life, scars no one els sees but reminds me everyday to be thankful to the one who gave me life. These days are in Gods hands and I pray he gives you a deep peace and comfort as you face the uncertainty. Gods presence rest upon you all. Hugs, Angelia in Tx

  9. I've dropped by for a visit from Katie's blog to let you know that I will pray for Eloise. I've seen her lovely face on Katie's blog...what a sweetie. It is so hard not to worry and stress when our children are ill. Knowing that many are holding you up in prayer surely does help!

  10. Hello :-) I read Katy's blog frequently and I just wanted to let you know that we, too, are dealing with a fused Metopic Suture with our almost 1 year old. Ironically, I live in Western, PA, too. Anyway, our son's suture has been fused since before birth. We've been told that of all the sutures to have fused, that is the one that usually doesn't cause serious problems. Our little one may need surgery, or he may not. We've been seeing a pediatric neurosurgeon at Children's who is very good- Dr. Pollock. If you want to email me, or if you have any questions, please feel free. I could also send you some very informative links.
    Take care,
    Kendra :-)

  11. If it makes you feel any better my 9 month olds closed before he was 6 months old. We never saw a Neuro surgeon and his head keeps growing PTL. Will be praying for you, but I think alot of kids heads close early. Childrens Hospital is fabulous,my oldest daughter was in Resp failure 2 yrs ago and spent time on a ventilator for 2 months. The Lord is good and I will be praying for you. If there is anything I can do please feel free to email me richellecucchi@comcast.net. I Peter 5:7
