Eloise is 7 weeks old.
I have been nursing her for 7 weeks.
Through bouts of thrush...
and pain due to Raynaud's Syndrome.
It has not been easy.
It's actually been 7 weeks of pain and stress.
I can't believe I've stuck with it!
But I'm keeping on...
because I know that she will benefit.
My lactation consultant has been awesome...
and has been working with me on El's latch.
It leaves MUCH to be desired.
So, as selfish as it may sound,
please say a prayer for me that she will catch on.
We need to get over this hurdle as soon as possible!
And if anyone has any advice or tips...
I'd really appreciate it!!
I love this face...
and I want to do what's best to keep her
happy, healthy and growing!

Precious sweet little smiling face. I still think she looks like her mom. I visited the link for the raynaud's syndrome. You sure are putting your Eloise first. After reading I sympathize for you & the pain you are pain going through. I was wondering if using a heating pad before the feedings would help. Prayers lifted for you both. Blessings!

Okay I totally relate!
ReplyDeleteLet me start off by saying that Elousie looks like a plump little bundle of cute, so you must be doing something right!
I remember dreading every single feeding, and when she would wake up hungry I'd seriously sometimes cry just because I had to feed her.
It IS worth the battle though.
I had a really rough one, like you which didn't start to ease up until 6 weeks.
After she was about 3 months I was so thankful that I didn't give up and that I stuck with it.
I have a lot of tips and advice that helped me avoid this with Gideon, but I'm sure your lactation consultant has already told you anything I would.
Good luck, and just know you're doing a fabulous job!
Awwww...that FACE is just too much:) Hang in there sweetie, breast feeding was SO much harder than I ever imagined. I know exactly how you feel! I tried and tried for 3 months and just wasn't making enough milk so we had to do formula. What ever happens, everything will be OKAY! I promise. You are an awesome mama!
